Vanilla means memories of childhood with the intensity of seemingly everlasting moments of joy. The scientific name of vanilla is "Vanilla Planafolia". The immature Vanilla pod or bean is fermented and is made by soaking the dried beans in alcohol. Most Vanilla worldwide is used for flavoring. Its comforting aroma adds warmth and softness to any blend. Use a few drops of vanilla essential in a diffuser to freshen the aroma climate of your home. Particularly nice in massage products, lip balm and body butters. Add sparingly to food for an exciting, authentic Vanilla flavor in desserts, salads, and pastries. The main chemical components of vanilla essential oil are vanillin and numerous traces of other constituents such as eugenol, caproic acid etc. Though it is non-toxic oil, but is not normally used in aromatherapy. Vanilla aromatherapy candles are usually highly scented, their strong aroma mixed with that of the food you have prepared may not go well together.
