The scientific name of Peppermint is Mentha piperita. Scientists have researched peppermint's role in affecting impaired taste and smell when inhaled. It improves mental performance, cognitive functioning, pain threshold and tolerance, digestion and digestive processes and athletic performance it has Cool menthol scent. Its origination is from Southeast Australia, from West of Sydney to Melbourne along the Great Dividing Range. It is basically used in aromatherapy, cosmetics and food industry. With Lemon Myrtle and Rosalina, or with Tea Tree and Rosalina, it makes a wonderful balsamic blend for massaging back and chest to fight bronchitis and other respiratory ailments. Peppermint Essential Oil has some benefits, which are given below: It is useful in Nervous Problems- strengthens nerves, useful with convulsions and spasms in children. For pets - rub a drop or two into the paw to settle down a nervous animal or for those who get car sick apply prior to and during a trip. It cures Stomach Problems- stomachache, cramps and hunger pangs. Useful in Colds/Flu - helps with fever, chills and vomiting. Digestion - stimulates salivary glands and bile production, relieves gas. It is also helpful in Dizziness/Fainting- smell the open bottle and place some under the nose to inhale. It also fights Drowsiness -place a drop in your palm, rub with other palm, and cup hands over your face and breathe deep through your nose - perks the brain. It will prevent gas if you put a drop or two on the tongue and inhale it while it gets swallowed; can be rubbed into area where the gas pains are. It also helps strengthening the muscles, and it is used for heart palpitations. In the cases below this oil should not be used. Avoid in cardiac fibrillation and epilepsy. It's a mucous membrane irritant and neurotoxin (toxic to the nerves).
